Day 1 : Arrival to Rwanda at Kigali international airport – Transfer to Lake Kivu
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, our representative will be readily available to welcome and receive you before showing you around The Land of A thousand hills at leisure as you drive through the rolling hills to Lake Kivu in Rubavu were you will chill overlooking the amazing Lake. It’s a great place to get energized as you get ready to take on the famous Nyiragongo summit the next day. Dinner and overnight at Paradis Malahide Lake Kivu.

DAY 2: Cross Goma border D R Congo – walking safari and Hike Mount Nyiragongo, 3470m
Depart Gisenyi early morning to cross the grand barrier and in Goma and enter D R Congo, clearing with customs and proceed directly to Kibati Patrol post the start post for the Nyiragongo volcano climb. It’s approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Goma to Kibati. Today is the real adventure when you spend a day walking through virunga mountains and hiking the live volcano-Nyiragongo. The 4-5 hour walking and hiking through lush rainforest takes you to the spot where the volcano erupted in 2002. Tonight you will stay at the crater rim of mount Nyiragongo overlooking the volcano. Dinner and overnight at Cabanas on the top of the volcano.

DAY 3: Descend Mount Nyiragongo - Transfer Rwanda, Kigali genocide memorial and departure at Kigali International airport
After breakfast start the descent of Mt. Nyiragongo and proceed to Goma to arrive at the head of the trail before meeting your vehicle to proceed and continue the drive to Kigali in Rwanda. Time allowing you can visit to Kigali genocide memorial before checking in at the airport.
