Detailed itinerary for the 11 Day Gorillas and Wildebeest Migration Safari.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Our safari representative will be readily waiting to cheer you and welcome you for your 11 Day Gorillas and Wildebeest Migration Safari in Uganda & Tanzania. You will then transfer to your Hotel in Entebbe to relax and get ready for the adventure starting the next day. Overnight at Papyrus guesthouse Entebbe
Day 2. Transfer to Bwindi Forest – Home of Mountain Gorillas
start the day with an early breakfast before setting out from Entebbe via the Equator line for monumental photoshoots. Continue the drive via the Rift Valley through the Kigezi Highlands and on to the mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is a home to endangered Mountain Gorillas. Day 3. Mountain Gorilla Encounter – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Spend the day tracking the endangered Mountain Gorilla, spending up to an hour among them. See mothers keeping infants close as they knucklewalk on three limbs. Watch scampering toddlers reined in by an attentive father. Late in the day, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight in the middle of Africa’s second deepest lake. Day 4. Transfer to Entebbe.
We start the day with a relaxed breakfast before starting the drive to Entebbe. With lunch stop on the way and getting some time to stretch the legs at the equator. Drive to Entebbe and have a relaxed evening as you get ready for the flight to Tanzania the next day. Overnight Papyrus Guesthouse
Day 5. Guided nature walk Entebbe Botanical gardens – Regional flight to Tanzania
With a lazy breakfast, get ready for relaxed guided walk in the Botanical garden with chances of spotting different primates and bird species. Have an early lunch and get ready for the air transfer to Kilimanjaro international airport where your guide will pick you and proceed to Arusha for an overnight. Overnight at Arusha Planet Hotel
Day 6. Transfer to Serengeti – Living with the Predators
Today we enter the Serengeti National Park and you will marvel at the multitude of animal and bird life while journeying through this acacia-spotted savannah. Game sightings abound. We arrive at the in time to enjoy a respite from the dirt roads and heat of the day and enjoy a hearty lunch. Later on in the afternoon, as the animal kingdom comes alive, continue your search for the “Big 5″ – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino – while taking in the vastness of the Serengeti plains heading for the lodge as the sun sets on this magnificent animal kingdom. Day 7. Central to Northern Serengeti – Follow the Wildebeest journey
After breakfast, you will wind through the Serengeti towards the northern region. Stopping to experience more wonder on the way! While it boasts abundant wildlife, the Serengeti is best known for its annual great migration. During the migration, vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The migration can be found during any given month, you just need to know where to look! At this time of year, the migration usually is in the Northern Serengeti. Overnight at Acacia Migration Camp
Day 8. Wildebeest Migration – Mara River Crossing.
Its time for the spectacular wildebeest Migration as millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the deadly Mara River. Get ready for a long day in the wilderness with picnic lunch. The park is well known for its healthy stock of other resident wildlife, particularly the “big five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion: The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part to the abundance of prey species. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. African Leopard: these reclusive predators are commonly seen in the Seronera region but are present throughout the national park. In the evening we head back to the camp to retire the day. Overnight at Acacia Migration Camp
Day 9. Last Wildebeest Migration – Transfer to Central Serengeti – Endless views
With an early breakfast, as we end the thrilling adventure, we target to witness at least 1 major crossing before we head back to Seronera. We shall have our picnic lunch as we peruse through the might endless plains of Serengeti. Retire the day at your cozy amp. Overnight at Into Wild Africa Tented Camp
Day 10. Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim – The Wildlife Natural Haven
After an easy early rise we head towards Ngorongoro Crater, cited as ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ’8th Natural Wonder of the World’. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder referred to as the world’s biggest wildlife zoo, due to its high density of resident game. In the afternoon we descend to the crater floor where you will be amazed by the sheer number and diversity of animals and birdlife. Standing in our pop up safari vehicle the viewing opportunities are endless, just deciding which way to look and what to look at, the choices are unlimited. The sheer excitement as we spot any of the big 5. Tonight as we relax we reflect on what has been a truly remarkable journey like no other experience and marvel in the wonders of the amazing wildlife East Africa has to offer. Day 11. Masai Cultural Experience – Transfer To Kilimanjaro International Airport
With an early breakfast, we drive to mto wa mbu (River of mosquitoes) for a morning cultural immersion and walking safari with the Masai. We can decide to have a lavish local lunch in the areas before we head back to Arusha or to the airport for your flight back home with lots of African memories as we have successfully completed our 11 Day Gorillas and Wildebeest Migration Safari.
